WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

Mission

The mission of Nana’s House is to support the emotional, social, intellectual growth and development of children by providing a safe, nurturing high quality child care environment.

We strive to provide a variety of activities that enhance the individual needs of each child. Also, we encourage them to be independent thinkers and lifelong learners.

Goals

  • To provide a safe, healthy and stimulating environment for exploration.
  • To provide opportunities for the development of large and small motor skills.
  • To provide a variety of play-based age appropriate activities that introduce the curriculum areas of art, science, social studies, dramatic play, manipulative, language and music

Philosophy

Our philosophy is to create a play based educational environment that is safe, caring and encourages the development of children. We strive to enrich the lives of children, respecting the fact that God made them naturally curious therefore,  we allow plenty of opportunities for exploration. We enhance learning and we apply a combination of various theorists including Montessori, Piaget, Erickson and Reggio in our environment.

We believe children grow and develop best in a developmentally appropriate environment that is secure, friendly, challenging and encouraging appropriate behavior in a positive manner. Teaching children should include hands-on engaging and interactive methods that encourage discovery of solutions and interest in continued investigation. Children’s social, emotional, mental and physical needs must be met. Individuality is always encouraged. Children here get MESSY. We believe that it is important to respect each child as a person.
